Just a little bit ago, I reinvented the wheel… sort of. In one of my previous posts Night Shots In Roanoke, Virginia I posted two photos of the moon with my camera. Obviously it wasn’t taken by the Hubble, and it wasn’t taken through a telescope; but there are a lot of features that were made clear after a small bit of enhancement.
I do not consider myself an amateur astronomer, but astrophotography and space in general fascinates me. It kind of took me by surprise that the moon had already been mapped out, but I literally went nuts when I realized that I could truly see some of the places on my photo. If you are interested, or just wonder what I am talking about, click on the image below this paragraph to download it (only 85k in size). It is by far not all inclusive, but you will get a different view of the moon! Oh and if you are reading this and are an astronomer, astronomy major, amateur astronomer or some variation thereof, and you see a mistake; feel free to let me know… I will not be offended.
